Pitanga is a very heathful fruit, having a high vitamin C content, as well as high levels of calcium. Most of the pitanga is consumed fresh. The pitanga (Eugenia uniflora) comes originally from the rain forest in Brazil. Today you can find this fruit also in other parts of the world.
ACEROLA – The Barbados Cherry
The acerola is believed to originate from the Yucatan in Mexico. Acerola has now been successfully harvested in sub-tropical areas throughout the world. Like Pitanga, most of the production is located in Brazil. The fruits provides also a high content of vitamin C.
ÇAJA – New Superfruit
Originally from the Rainforest. Small orange fruit with a tropical taste. Mostly used in Brazil for juices. The key benefits are the wide ranfe of powerful ingrdients like calcium or iron. It also provides high contents of Vitamin A, B and C.
CUPUAÇU – fruity Pharmacy
This fruit grows on trees mainly located in South and Middle America. The fruits are about the size of a medium-sized watermelon and become ripe during the rain season. Cupuacu provides vitamin B1, B2, B3, fatty and at least nine antioxidants.
