Innocent Drinks
Innocent Drinks is a smoothie

company that was founded in 1999 in the UK. Three young men (Richard Reed, Adam Balon and Jon Wright) decided to quite their jobs and follow their passions for fruit smoothies, after selling smoothies at a music festival in London. They asked their customers to put their empty cups in either the ‘YES’ or ‘NO’ pile to vote whether the three should quit their jobs and sell their smoothies instead. The next day they all resigned and began to build their Innocent Drinks company.
Fruit smoothies are the main product that Innocent Drinks makes, which are mainly made of fresh fruit and have no other additives or preservatives. Their smoothies are created using a variety of fruit including your standard apples and oranges ranging to the more exotic pineapple, kiwi and boysenberries. Such examples include combinations like: pineapples, bananas and coconuts or mangoes and passion fruit. They also sell other awesome and inspired products such as ‘Thickies’, which are mainly made of yoghurt, vanilla, and honey or ‘Veg Pots’, which are proportioned and ready to eat healthy lunches. Each filled with three servings of your daily vegetable intake and are also suitable for either vegetarians and some for vegans. Such Veg Pots include titles like ‘Mexican Potato Chilli’, made of rice, beans, vegetables and spices or ‘Japanese Miso Noodles’, made of noodles, miso, vegetables and spices. Innocent Drink also carries a great line for kids. Their smoothies for kids are made in smaller portions and are suitable for lunch boxes. As well they created a product called ‘fruit tubes’, made of pure fruit and fruit juice, which can be eaten for lunch or snacks. Innocent Drinks is a company that works to be very conscience of their ethics and aims to stay grounded in their values. As a company they try to look beyond going after profits and growing by any means necessary. Rather they have taken a look at their impact of their business on the environment and the world. They consider how they can reduce waste, how they can create a production system that is sustainable, and how much water are they using. They work to find solutions to these issues that can answer these questions.
Notably they donate 10% of their profits to charity, mainly to ‘innocent foundation’ which supports developmental projects where much of their produce comes from. You can learn more about ‘innocent foundation’ here athttp://www.innocentfoundation.org/.
