Exotic Papaya Smoothies
Papayas are grown in tropical countries and are most available in the summer season, June to September. The colours range from yellow to reddish, depending on the type and are soft to the touch when they are ripe (similar to a ripe peach or avocado). The papaya fruit is loaded with vitamines A, C and E. One cup of cubed papaya has 55 calories and no fat. Here is a collection of papaya smoothies.
Tropical Papaya Smoothie
1 cup fresh papaya
1 cup fresh pineapple
1 cup regular or soy milk
½ -1 banana
2tbsp hredded coconut
1tbsp maple syrup
Instructions:
Blend all the ingredients until smooth. Serve chilled.
Tropical Twist Papaya Smoothie
1 cup fresh papaya
½ cup soy milk or regular milk
½ cup ice
½ juice of small lemon or lime
½ cup fresh pineapple
Instructions:
Puree all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve chilled.
Papaya Smoothie with a Punch
½ cup fresh papaya
½ cup fresh mango
1 cup regular or soy yoghurt
½ cup water
¼ cup ice
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp cardamom
Instructions:
Puree all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve chilled.
