Picking the ideal name for your business is not an easy decision. As mentioned in our article about trademark acts, you have to choose names carefully. Some names might already been taken and internet research is not a sufficient way for identifying those names.

If your budget is tight, you might not consider consulting a specialized lawyer who will support you in protecting your own brand at the start.

We would like to give you some tips on how to find a good-sounding juice bar name. Nevertheless you have to make sure that these names are still available in your country.

Before we opened our smoothie bar in 2007 we spent probably more than 4 weeks looking for the right name. Our goal was to choose a “fruity” name which could be easily pronounced by Germans. This was not so easy because the German pronounciation is sometimes very difficult.

We decided to pick an Italian or Spanish name because of two reasons. First Germans are used to the pronounciation and second, many clients might associate the languages with warm climat zones and fresh fruits.

After some research we found the Italian word for a fruit shop which is called Fruteria. We also considered to change it into an English version, like Fruiteria.

The Europen chain zumo bars picked actually a Spanish name for their smoothie business. Zumo means juice in Spanish and is also easy to pronounce.

Here are four tips on how to find the ideal name for your bar:

1.) Think about different languages and check translations for juice, fresh, fruit or fruity. In most cases the internet provides many free translation resources. Ask yourself the question, if people in your country are able to speek the words probably.

2.) Play with different combination. Like in the mentioned zumo bar example, try to combine some words. You could pick the Spanish word for apple and combine it with juice. The result would be “manzana juice”

3.) Look for tropical island names. In our Fruteria Bars we chose only island names for all of our smoothies. There are many small islands in the Pacific which could give your busisness an ideal name. An example could be Bali juice or Capri Smoothie.

4.) You could also choose an exotic fruit for your bar. Brazil offers many different types of fruits which are still very unknown in the western world. We like the word Pitanga which is a beery from the Rainforest in South America. A possible name could be Pitanga Juice Bar.
